How I got through this Launch

Being a small business owner aka #bossbabe , is great and very rewarding. But at the same time it is very overwhelming and put a lot of stress on the owner. I am the ONE who is doing the baking, social media, website, responding to emails, photography, videography. Basically ALL THE THINGS. See what I have discovered to help manage the noise inside my head. If you feel anxiety, confusion, or just feel overwhelmed, THIS IS FOR YOU. I promise, if you give it a chance you will love it.

If you have never heard of Headspace, let me be the first to explain it to you. I initially found and watched Headspace on Netflix. Searching for my next show to binge. I stumbled upon this bright colored graphic that immediately grabbed my attention; Headspace. But what is HeadSpace? Headspace is a series of episodes that introduce and teach mindful meditation. The episodes specifically dive in to: how to let go, how to fall in love with life, how to deal with stress, how to be kind, how to deal with pain, stress, and anger. Each episode resonated with me and I was so excited to watch the next.

How I grew more headspace

Once I finished the 8 episodes, I discovered that there is an app. I was so excited. The Netflix episodes really got me exciting about meditation and I wanted more. So, I downloaded HeadSpace, found in the App Store or Google Play. This is how I grew more headspace. This specific meditation resonated with me. The meditation teaches you to be aware of your surroundings, aware of those around you and that I am in control on my own happiness. Meditation is my new favorite #selfcare that I look forward to everyday. #Meditation uses #mindfulness to gain brain awareness and helps to keep you in a happier state of mind.

Personally, I meditate in the morning and at night before I go to sleep. I will continue to discuss mental health as there are so many resources out there that can help. My goal is to reach at least 1 person who could benefit from meditation. I have found that it really is life changing. If you do give it a try, send me a DM and let me know.

I then decided to open up a book. Now I like a real physical book, not an eBook. Don’t we get enough screen time on the computer and social media? The book that I read is "The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down: How to be Calm and mindful in a Fast Paced World by Haemin Sunim. The title alone accurately describes what the book is about.

Sunim says, “We know the world only through the window of our mind. When our mind is noisy, the world is as well. And when our mind is peaceful, the world is, too. Knowing our minds is just as important as trying to change the world.”

A great read, that gives actionable steps for changes you could make in your everyday life. You can find this book at the library and on Amazon. I personally checked out this book from the library. Check online for availability.

Both of these helped me get through this launch. Learn to be your own best friend. You can carry yourself through the good, the bad, the stress and the bliss of life.

Till next time,

✌🏽 Christina
